CKC Rottweilers & AKC Miniature Pinschers

Located in Florence Co.

An army encampment on the Meckar River in what became the state of Swabia in Southern Germany. It flourished as a trading center and was eventually called Rottweil (Rote Wil-"red tiled roofs"). Here, the breed became known as the Rottweiler. "Lore" has it that the butcher's of Rottweil depended on their dogs to herd cattle to market; then once the cattle were slaughtered, the dogs pulled the butcher's carts. When the meat was sold, the money purses were tied around the dogs' necks to keep the money safe from bandits.

In 1836 Dr. H. G. Reinchenbach, a German writer, stated the Miniature Pinscher is a cross of the Dachshund and the Italian Greyhound. This conclusion of Dr. Reinchenbach is now generally accepted by historians and those who have researched the background of the breed. In any event, Germany is undisputed as the home of origin, where the Miniature Pinscher was known as the "Reh Pinscher" due to its resemblance to a small red deer, the Reh, which freely roamed the German forests many years ago.

I purchased my first Rottweiler in Dec. of 1994. Since then Rottweilers have been my hobby. We are not commercial breeders. We enjoy these loyal dogs for pleasure, not for profit. We have invested far more time and money into this breed than we have ever received from breeding them. We breed first and foremost for ourselves and then for others who have an interest in owning a White Horse Rott.

In 1995 we rescued some MinPins, and found that thay maked good companions for our Rott. Now we are bringing them back to our Kennel and we enjoy having them.

Breeding Code of Ethics

Here at White Horse kennels we strive to produce the complete Rottweiler. The goal of our

breeding program is to create dogs who are sound in temperament, beautiful in type, healthy in genetics, correct in structure, strong in drive, and intelligent in mind, imposing in appearance,

substantial in bone, powerful in heads, dark eyes and mouths and with well defined rich mahogany markings. Best of all we are striving to make wonderful members of our family, and hopefully yours to.

We are just two dog lovers, with an obsession with Rottweilers.

For now, we ride an iron horse.

One day we will be riding white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.
